well... its really a nice thought ! i really appriciat your work !

Well, after several weeks of researching my options, and trying to wrap my mind around letting go of "my pattern babies...." I finally decided to go ahead with publishing the wonderful patterns I've used at Dorothy's for others to enjoy.
Once I drafted and nailed down the layout, binding and appearance of how I wanted the book to look, I got down to the brass tacks. Today I started scanning instructions, one tedius, high resolution scan at a time and got about half way through (roughly 13 scans) before I had decided that was enough for today.
I haven't even gotten to the cleaning up, and perhaps re-typing part, because much of what I work with in the way of instructions is well, very old, crumbling and fading, or just plain missing. Somehow the idea of hand copying all the actual patterns themselves seems easy and even joyful compared to this part, which is clearly not my favorite.
I had hubby move the scanner upstairs so I could use it with my laptop so I can now scan and work on these little goodies "in between" the rest of my day, and during naptime. This of course required much to do, and I had to install all sorts of drivers, which took an additional tedious 45 minutes of fussing.
However, I am sure the end product will be exactly as I had planned.
I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew by planning to release the patterns before the holidays.
