More Book Updates---
Because Enquiring Minds Want to Know!
Yes, it is coming along. I had run into some major snags with sizing and final output of the images and because I am a perfectionist and refuse to sell people something they can't use, it's been a bit of an adventure and I've been a bee in the bonnet of the folks at CopyMax and Fed Ex Office!
Once I got the scans figured out and re-sized to fit IN the book, and my dear, dear husband (thank the Lord I married an engineer who was a Mathalete in highschool!) did all the calculations to figure out how much the scans needed to be increased to work, I flew to CopyMax to do 6 test blow-ups of the patterns. Three worked, three didn't. Hubby then re-checked his calculation which were of course, CORRECT, and back I went. So they are redoing the scans to see what happened.
Because some of the patterns are so LONG (the Edwardian Overdress is almost 6 ft!) a few needed to be reduced so much to fit on the page that they now need to be enlarged more than 400%. This requires a knowledgeable copy staff person to enlarge them as it's more than pushing a button.
However, don't worry, I'll have exactly what to tell the Copy Staff Person when you go in with the book right there in print!
For a short while, however, I was panicked enough to fear it might not be possible, however it is, it just requires some patience on their part. I am still considering making a CD of full scale .pdf pattern scans availabe at an additional charge. I haven't quite worked this one out yet, but hope to in the next few days.
As of this minute I have received confirmation from the ISBN folks that they have received my order and are processing it. I'm waiting for the final double check of the enlargements, and then a final copy will be sent off to the copyright office. Once I have the ISBN I'll be ordering my first official proof, and the Lord willing, we will be ready to go to print and up for sale!
